Time to rediscover those dust lines around your computers folks.

legionLAN10 is going ahead, and all dl* members are invited to attend.

The LAN will be held on 12:00 Friday 2nd - 18:00 Sunday 4th April 2010 @The Crypt School in Gloucester.

We need people to begin committing now so we can gauge numbers and prepare equipment. Once you sign up you'll be asked to pay a deposit so we can purchase cables and any other stuff we may need. FYI we need at least 20 signups to make this possible.

The cost will be £30 per person - This includes a chiar, a table, power, parking space, and floorspace to sleep on for the entire duration.

In order to sign up you need to send me a personal messege containing the following:

Your full real name

A valid email address

Your mobile number (optional)

Where you'll be travelling from and via which means (car, train etc.) and whether you can offer a lift to anyone nearby

The basic rules are simple, but stay tuned for changes and additions:

Only one PC and one Monitor per person. (no big screens please)
No Speakers - headset/phones only
You may bring your own chair if you wish
Alcohol is allowed but please drink responsibly
No drugs.
No smoking inside the building
Food is of course permitted, but cooking on-site is not

Like i said some of this may change, feel free to ask questions.

For you information, the current management team for this event is as follows, however we may be looking for additional help. More info to come:

Event Managers - Bean, Obliter8, Vegas
Server Admin - Fuzz

EDIT:
Listen up folks, as we near the magic time, the gears are truly starting to turn!

Below is the official Gamelist. The PRIMARY list is there to provide you with the bulk of the gaming fun and will ensure that you have a good time. You won't get kicked out if you don't have them, but the idea is that you can join in as much as possible. Every game you don't have will exclude you from a portion of the fun.

The OPTIONAL list is games that a number of members have, and which would make a great LAN games. If you have some spare cash, why not ask around, then take a punt? If anyone cba, the titles may get updated with links to the cheapest outlets for each game. Who knows!

So, the PRIMARY Gameslist:
League of Legends
Battlefield:Bad Company 2
Counter Strike: Source
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Half-Life 2 DM & SDK (for mods)
Unreal Tournament 3 (for mods)
Warcraft 3:The Frozen Throne (original plus exansion a must)
Team Fortress 2
Left 4 Dead 1 & 2
Armagedtron

The OPTIONAL Gamelist:
Blood Bowl
Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising
MW2
Aliens versus Predator
Dawn of War 2 (+ or expansion)
Borderlands
World in Conflict + Soviet
UT2004
SupCom2
Just Cause 2
C&C 4
Red Alert 3

Guys, just book your leave and be done with it. We need a good idea of numbers ASAP so as not to mess the venue around.

In a job, leave is leave. If you book it, that's that. As a student, some careful work budgeting may be required, but it's only one weekend.

We would really appreciate a committed, positive response. In return, we will do our damndest to do all the work behind the scenes to make this a fun-packed event to remember.

LANs are what PC gaming was made for. I guarantee it's 10x more fun than playing on vent, and a great way to put names to faces/get to know one another better/hear what someones snoring is like at 5am :p

Also: if there's any ideas you have, feel free to post. We'll do what we can!

Aditional info:

If you come from overseas and would like to attend, please say so in this thread - some of us Britons have spare parts or even complete PCs which we can loan you if transporting your own rig is an issue.

To start off our even staff recruitment, I'd like to ask if anyone is interested in the following roles:

Patch Master - This person will be responsible for making all required patches available to everyone at the LAN. The candidate will sit down with each attendee once they have plugged into the LAN and ensure all games on the games list are the latest version. With good planning this should only be required for the Friday afternoon.

Nutrition Coordinator - This person will be the go-to guy for Pizza/Takeaway and Tesco runs.

Right I would really like to make it my flight options seem to be limited however.

Routes from Cork:

Cork - Birmingham
Cork - Bristol
Cork - Cardiff

Getting out on the Friday is no problemo but coming back on the sunday doesnt seem to be a goer on any route. If i fly to Bristol would I be able to scag a lift to the venue and back to Bristol on the Sunday? Ill book in somewhere in Bristol then for the Sunday night (maybe go on the piss in Bristol?).

I would like to book this ASAP (cause knowing my luck some rugby game will come up on those dates and will book the whole show out) however im not willing to fork over the money to the airlines until such time as I know there will be an event as i wont get it back!

Idea's?
